Watercolour washes painted by hand and scanned, with the pigment allowed to pool and separate naturally along the drying edges. The granulation of the paint against the paper is fully visible.

Every wash is unrepeatable in the way real watercolour is – the blooms and hard edges fell where the water took them rather than where they were placed.
